Rules for respectful local posts, chats, and offers
nyr is built for useful nearby interactions. These guidelines apply to profiles, posts, images, messages, reviews, reports, business content, bookings, and any other user-generated content.
Core standards
- Use real, accurate information and respect the audience selected for each feature.
- Keep posts relevant to their category: help, sales, rentals, gigs, rides, parcels, events, communities, or business offers.
- Communicate clearly, keep commitments, and do not pressure people to share private information.
- No scraping, spam, mass outreach, fake accounts, or attempts to bypass privacy or trust controls.
Violations can lead to warnings, content removal, feature limits, suspension, or permanent removal.
Allowed vs. not allowed
Allowed
- Useful local requests, offers, listings, and recommendations
- Respectful messages tied to a real post, booking, service, or connection
- Verified businesses posting transparent prices, availability, and terms
Not allowed
- Harassment, threats, hate, sexual exploitation, child safety violations, or doxxing
- Scams, counterfeit goods, illegal items, unsafe services, spam, or misleading offers
- Sharing private chats, phone numbers, locations, photos, or identity documents without consent
Communication standards
- Be clear about intent, price, location, condition, timing, and urgency.
- Use the correct category and do not mislabel posts to gain attention.
- Disagreements do not excuse harassment, retaliation, threats, or privacy violations.
Reporting & enforcement
- Report posts, messages, users, or businesses from the relevant screen when available.
- Use block controls to stop unwanted contact where available.
- Trust & Safety may remove content, restrict accounts, preserve evidence, or escalate unlawful activity.
- Local law applies when stricter than these community standards.
